Elon Musk's role as a special government employee at D.O.G.E (Department of Government Efficiency) is set to come to an end soon, according to reports by Politico.

This aligns with a statement made by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who confirmed that Musk will be departing from his public service role at the conclusion of his work with Doge.

"Elon Musk and President Trump have both publicly stated that Elon will depart from public service as a special government employee when his incredible work at Doge is complete," said Leavitt via X.

"The agency shall be funded through a modest reduction in the budget of existing government programs, ensuring that taxpayers are not burdened with any additional expenditure," the executive order stated.

The president's order will see D.O.G.E operate for four years from the date of its creation, unless terminated earlier by the president.

"The agency shall cease operations on the seventh day of April, 2026, or earlier if the President terminates the agency," the order added.
