Syntell and Leo Rydel from Geekly Goods react to Season 6 Episode 3 — the one where Tommy chases a Romani curse across the country and doesn't make it back in time, Ada walks into a room full of sharks by herself and shuts it down, Arthur gets cracked open at the Liverpool docks by a man named Hayden Stagg, and Ruby Shelby dies at age seven with her father nowhere near her. The episode's title is gold. It doesn't save anything. In Tommy's absence, Ada Thorne is running the Shelby Company Limited. She walks into the meeting alone, goes tit-for-tat with Diana Mitford — who sits across from her and announces that when the great cleansing comes, the gypsies should be spared — and does not crack that glass in her forehead, though both hosts agreed she should have. Ada has that Polly confidence now. Leadership looks good on her. Stephen Graham arrives as Hayden Stagg, a union convenor stealing Shelby whiskey by the bucket from a seven-ton haul on the docks. Arthur goes to collect. What happens instead is one of the quietest scenes in the season so far. Walk like it's a flat plane. Easy step by easy step. The Barwell curse: Tommy gave a sapphire to the wrong woman. It passed hands. A girl, age seven, started coughing and died. Daughter for daughter. Ruby is seven.
