Why Pinchas Received What Moshe Did Not (Based on the Teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe) Pinchas did something different. He acted inside the physical world. He put his own body in danger. His action awakened teshuvah and repaired the spiritual damage among the Jewish people. Rebbe explains that this is the difference between holiness that comes from above and holiness that is created from below. A revelation from above can be powerful, but it may not last.
