There are only six suites on an entire Singapore Airlines A380 — and I booked two of them. I took both 1A and 2A, opened the partition between them, and turned two suites into one private room with a double bed. About US$11,000 for a five and a half hour flight. In Suites Class the bed is separate from the seat, the chair rotates 270 degrees, there are two windows, and the sliding door is etched with a petal pattern. Before departure I visited THE PRIVATE ROOM, the Suites-only lounge at Changi Airport — voted the world's best airport again in 2026 — with lobster laksa, TWG tea, a wine cellar, nap rooms and shower rooms. The night before I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport, and the trip starts with a Rolls-Royce transfer. It is about five and a half hours to Shanghai. From an airline voted the world's best six times, the main course is scrambled eggs topped with caviar, the champagne is Cristal 2015, the amenities and pyjamas are LALIQUE, and the headphones are Bang & Olufsen.
