Bit Origin Launches $500M Dogecoin Treasury Strategy with Initial $15M Raised

Bit Origin is embarking on an ambitious $500 million funding initiative aimed at acquiring Dogecoin, having already secured an initial $15 million to launch its Dogecoin treasury strategy.

CEO Jinghai Jiang believes Dogecoin's rapid settlement times, minimal transaction fees, and robust community support make it an excellent candidate for global payment system integration.

Looking ahead, Bit Origin intends to expand its operations beyond mining, focusing on the development of services and applications that leverage Dogecoin's payment ecosystem.

Bit Origin, a company listed on the Nasdaq, has unveiled a Dogecoin-centric treasury strategy with the goal of raising $500 million through a combination of equity and convertible debt offerings. The company has confirmed the initial securing of $15 million, a portion of which will be used to commence Dogecoin acquisitions.

This strategic move aims to establish Bit Origin as one of the first publicly traded companies to hold Dogecoin as a core asset.

$500 Million Strategy to Accumulate Dogecoin

Bit Origin Ltd (NASDAQ: BTOG) has announced agreements with accredited investors for the sale of up to $400 million in Class A ordinary shares and up to $100 million in convertible debt. The objective is to accumulate Dogecoin as a long-term treasury asset. This positions the company to become a significant public holder of DOGE.

The initial $15 million financing tranche has been completed under the convertible debt facility. A substantial portion of these funds is allocated for the purchase of Dogecoin. The company has appointed Chardan as the placement agent for the facility provided by ATW Partners. According to official documents, this strategy aligns with the company's broader goal of increasing Doge per share to enhance shareholder value.

Executive View on Dogecoin’s Role and Utility

Jinghai Jiang, CEO and Chairman of Bit Origin, commented, "What began as a lighthearted concept has transformed into a globally liquid asset with practical payment utility." He further noted that few digital assets can rival Dogecoin's settlement speed and the scale of its community, which continues to drive adoption in peer-to-peer transactions and online commerce.

Jiang also stated, "We anticipate that Doge's performance and community will make it a natural fit for X Money, as Elon Musk progresses with his vision for X as a comprehensive global super-app." He described Dogecoin as embodying optimism and resilience amidst declining institutional trust, underscoring the company's perception of Dogecoin as both a cultural and financial asset.

Bit Origin's accumulation of Dogecoin signifies a strategic shift for the company. It is transitioning from solely focusing on mining infrastructure to directly engaging with digital asset utility and value creation. According to official statements, Dogecoin's low transaction fees and increasing acceptance among merchants are pivotal to this strategic move.
