Bitcoin Shows 8.25% Kimchi Premium in Korean Market on October 18

As of 12:00 AM KST on October 18, Bitcoin (BTC) was trading at 161.72 million KRW on South Korea’s Upbit exchange, down 2.16% from the previous day. On global exchange Binance, BTC was priced at 149.40 million KRW, resulting in a price gap of 12.32 million KRW and a Kimchi Premium of 8.25%.

Ethereum (ETH), the leading altcoin, also recorded an 8.25% Kimchi Premium. Other major altcoins displayed similar levels: Solana (SOL) at 8.30%, XRP (XRP) at 8.04%, Dogecoin (DOGE) at 8.31%, and Shiba Inu (SHIB) at 8.69%. Most top altcoins are currently trading with a premium in the 8.2% to 8.6% range.
