Bitcoin Surges Past $87,000 Amidst Growing Market Optimism
Bitcoin (BTC) experienced a significant surge on Monday, fueled by increasing optimism surrounding US global trade agreements. CoinMarketCap data shows Bitcoin trading around $84,000 early in the day, rapidly climbing to surpass $87,000, representing a 2.1% daily gain. This positive momentum boosted sentiment across the broader cryptocurrency market, positively impacting several leading altcoins.
Bitcoin Eyes $90,000
Last week proved volatile for Bitcoin. CoinMarketCap data indicates the leading cryptocurrency struggled to break the $86,000 barrier, dipping as low as $83,200. However, favorable developments over the weekend contributed to the recent price increase.

The surge mitigated the impact of earlier month declines. Bitcoin previously fell to $75,000 following President Trump's imposition of significant tariffs on Chinese goods. Recent statements from President Trump suggesting renewed tariff negotiations with China have improved investor confidence. Experts believe easing trade war concerns could trigger renewed growth in the cryptocurrency market, with Bitcoin's price movements closely linked to the outcome of these negotiations.
Another contributing factor to Bitcoin's rise is Metaplanet, a publicly traded Japanese company, announcing further BTC acquisitions. CEO Simon Gerovich confirmed the purchase. Furthermore, cryptocurrency research firm 10x Research indicated that Bitcoin may be poised for substantial growth, suggesting a potential upward breakout from a current price compression pattern.
Altcoins Follow Suit
Bitcoin's rise positively impacted major altcoins, including Ethereum (ETH), XRP, and BNB. Ethereum saw a 1.4% increase, XRP gained 1.5%, while Dogecoin (DOGE) and BNB each rose approximately 1.4%. Cardano (ADA) also saw a roughly 1% increase. However, Solana (SOL) did not participate in this minor rally.
