The approval of Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs marked a significant turning point for the cryptocurrency industry, setting a precedent for numerous altcoins. Several altcoins, including XRP, Solana (SOL), and Litecoin (LTC), have also submitted spot ETF applications.
While major players like Grayscale and Bitwise have filed for various altcoin ETFs, approval is anticipated in 2025. Bloomberg Intelligence has analyzed the likelihood of these altcoin ETFs receiving approval.
According to Bloomberg's analysis, Solana and Litecoin boast the highest probability of approval, each with a 90% chance. Bloomberg senior analyst Eric Balchunas outlined the approval prospects for several crypto ETFs, including SOL, XRP, and LTC. Their chart indicates an 85% chance for XRP approval.
Dogecoin (DOGE) and Hedera (HBAR) ETFs are projected to have an 80% chance of approval, while Cardano (ADA), Polkadot (DOT), and Avalanche (AVAX) stand at 75%.
Comparing these figures to February's predictions reveals increased approval chances for several altcoins. While Litecoin maintained its 90% approval rating, Dogecoin's chance rose from 75%, Solana's from 70%, and XRP's from 65%.
Balchunas also provided estimated approval dates, emphasizing that these are subject to change. Most deadlines are projected for the fourth quarter of 2025, although earlier approval remains a possibility.
