Dogecoin's popularity continues to attract fraudulent projects attempting to capitalize on its name recognition. A pseudonymous developer, using the handle "inevitable360," recently warned followers about misleading tokens falsely claiming affiliation with Dogecoin. These projects, the developer stressed, are entirely separate from Dogecoin, which operates on its own independent blockchain.
One example highlighted is "Dogevan," promoted by some users as a Dogecoin-related project. While details remain scarce, the developer clarified that Dogevan has no official connection to Dogecoin, urging community members to avoid assuming legitimacy based solely on similar names or themed marketing.
The developer emphasized the fundamental difference between established cryptocurrencies like Dogecoin and Bitcoin, which are built on robust technical infrastructure and public verification, and speculative tokens launched without their own blockchains. These latter tokens, the developer cautioned, can be created quickly and used for dubious fundraising or deceptive marketing.
