Fueled by a broader market upswing, meme cryptocurrencies are experiencing significant gains today, with leading coins delivering substantial returns to investors. While Pepe (PEPE) stands out as a top performer, Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) are also rallying to new local highs.

Shiba Inu (SHIB), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Pepe (PEPE) Lead the Meme Coin Rally

As of August 9, 2025, the meme cryptocurrency sector is witnessing a notable surge. Pepe (PEPE), the popular frog-themed coin, is among the fastest-growing cryptocurrencies over the past 24 hours. PEPE's price has risen by 12.4%, reaching $0.00001251.

Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB), the two largest meme cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, are also showing strong performance. Dogecoin's (DOGE) price has increased by 7%, reaching $0.2389, pushing its market capitalization above $35 billion once again.

Shiba Inu (SHIB) has also seen a 7% increase, climbing to $0.00001378 and reclaiming its position within the top 30 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.

Overall, the aggregated market capitalization of meme coins has risen by 6%, significantly outpacing the broader market benchmark's 1.1% increase.

Further down the cryptocurrency rankings, meme coins continue to shine. Mog Coin (MOG), a prominent cat-themed coin, has gained 11.8%, while Based Brett (BRETT) is up by 6.2% over the past 24 hours.

Community favorites such as Dogwifhat (WIF) and Floki Inu (FLOKI) have also seen gains of 3-4%, accompanied by increased trading volume.
