Many analysts are interested in when Shiba Inu (SHIB) might reach the same market cap as Dogecoin (DOGE). Since SHIB arrived in August 2020, investors have been calling it the “Dogecoin Killer.” Their hope is that it might one day pass DOGE to become the leading meme coin.

And believe it or not, it did, at least for a short time. In October 2021, SHIB's market cap shot up to $41 billion, which was just enough to flip Dogecoin. But the hype didn't last long. The SHIB price dropped, and its value fell back under $10 billion. Since then, DOGE has stayed ahead.

As of today, SHIB is #19 on the list of top cryptocurrencies, with a market cap of about $7.92 billion. This still makes it the second-largest meme coin. Dogecoin, on the other hand, holds the #8 spot, with a market cap of around $30.39 billion.

So, to match Dogecoin's market cap, SHIB would need to increase in price by about 284% from where it is now. This increase would push its price to approximately $0.00005155, assuming the total supply of 589.5 trillion SHIB remains the same. Even then, it would still be lower than SHIB's all-time high of $0.00008845.

Different platforms and experts have varying predictions regarding the timeline for SHIB to reach the Dogecoin market cap. Some are optimistic, while others are more skeptical.

For instance, Telegaon predicts that SHIB could reach a price of $0.00005155 sometime in 2024. Changelly expects it to happen later, perhaps by November 2027.

Analysts like Bunchhieng and contributors to Forbes are also optimistic, believing that SHIB could hit the target this year and maybe even rise to $0.0001, setting a new record. However, the website CoinCodex predicts that it could take much longer. According to their calculations, SHIB price will hit the $0.00005155 mark in May 2040, and it might reach a high of $0.00005377 that year.

As opinions vary widely, it seems that only time will tell when, or even if, Shiba Inu will manage to outpace Dogecoin in the crypto sphere.
