Dogecoin (DOGE) has quietly worked its way up to a familiar spot for traders — the kind that either sparks the next leg up or simply gets shrugged off.

Sitting just under $0.239 as of Tuesday, Dogecoin is approaching a resistance level it has tested several times in the past. This time, however, there is a bit more weight behind the momentum.

Picking up some rhythm along the way, DOGE's price has been climbing in small but consistent steps up from the $0.215 range. With each pullback, buyers have responded more aggressively, creating a pattern of higher lows.

There is a good chance that breaking above $0.239 will push the price to $0.265. That zone is one that has not been touched in a while, yet the path there looks fairly clear should the market maintain its current momentum. No guarantees, though the setup is leaning in that direction.

If we step back and take a look at the big picture, May has been a mixed bag for Dogecoin — the ups and downs are just part of the ride. This May, however, looks positive so far, with gains already exceeding 30%. Its performance is closer to that of its better years, like 2019 and 2020, than to that of its weaker ones, such as 2022 and 2023.

Quarterly numbers back that up, too. After a slow start to the year, with Q1 down over 47%, DOGE has bounced back by more than 36% so far in Q2. Breaking out here would only add to that, possibly giving the second quarter a stronger finish.

On the other hand, if a clean break is not achieved, a period of sideways drift could follow before the next direction becomes clear. Either way, it is a level to watch.
