BNY tokenized the Treasury with Citadel Securities in a repo process using a tokenized representation of US Treasury bonds on BNY's private ledger. It is worth noting that assets can go from settlement to use as collateral in a short-term financing workflow, showing that tokenization has created value at the infrastructure level. However, private ledger does not mean the public blockchain has won, and tokenized assets do not automatically prove that the entire payment process has reached the final settlement.
