We explore the abandoned remains of a former explosives factory in the Todescker Valley between Hagen and Lüdenscheid. Hidden in the forest there are still ruins, old production buildings, bunker-like shelters, massive concrete walls and traces of an industrial plant that played an important role, particularly in the First World War. This factory produced, among other things, dynamite and explosives - originally for mining and quarrying, but later also for the war industry. During the First World War, over 2,000 people worked here at times. The system was designed in a decentralized manner: individual buildings were separated from each other in order to limit the damage in the event of explosions. Today the area looks like a forgotten ghost town in the forest. Some buildings have collapsed, others have been reused later, and between walls, old doors, air raid doors, basement areas, passageways and overgrown ruins you can still see the structure of this dangerous industrial facility. Particularly exciting are the bunker-like protected areas, old production remains, the massive ramparts and the question of what function the individual buildings had back then. There are also references to later use during the Second World War, when companies from Hagen wanted to relocate parts of their production to the Todescker Valley because of the air raids. A mystical lost place with a lot of industrial culture, history and decay. If you are interested in abandoned places, lost places, bunkers, military history, industrial heritage, World War I, World War II and old explosives factories, this video is for you. 00:00 Intro - Abandoned explosives factory in the forest 01:28 Return after many years 02:04 History of the plant in the Todescker Valley 03:46 Castorfer Sprengstoff AG and early industrial history 05:26 Factory management villa in danger of collapsing 09:09 Air raid door discovered in the basement area 10:24 More production buildings in the forest 11:29 Construction of an old explosives plant 13:30 Bunker-like buildings and protective walls 14:16 Production in the First World War 16:00 Explosion protection and decentralized construction 17:18 Small shelters between the buildings 19:28 Subsequent use and abandoned workshops 21:33 Second World War, air raids and forced labor 24:23 Passages to the mass houses 26:08 Ramparts and hidden ruins 27:51 A ghost town in the forest 31:25 Traces of the Narrow-gauge railway and old foundations 33:37 Conclusion on the abandoned explosives factory #LostPlaces #History #Abandoned #Urbex
