Bitcoin Breaks Support (but something bigger is happening)

Bitcoin dropped 2.4% yesterday and closed below both our short-term trend line and a bear flag that has been building for about two weeks. I walked through how the price ran from the June 5th low all the way up to tag the TBO fast line at $66,750 on Monday before getting rejected hard. Now I am watching for a bounce back up to the $64,500 area to confirm that level as new resistance, which would set up the next leg down toward a measured bear flag target of $45,755, lining up almost perfectly with the August 2024 pivot low near $49,000. Ethereum also lost key support, falling 2.26% and closing below a level that had held from June 6th through June 14th. My existing bear flag target on ETH remains $1,077, and my long-standing bottom target of $1,073 makes that alignment hard to ignore. I still feel it is too early to accumulate either coin. My trigger for flipping the switch on accumulation is Bitcoin touching its realized price, and we are not there yet. On the macro side, the US Dollar Index printed a TBO breakout and hit its highest level since May 2025, and USDJPY spiked to 161.808, dangerously close to the 2024 high that triggered a Bank of Japan intervention and a 12% crash in the pair that took everything down with it.
