Winter is rapidly approaching the rugged mountains, bringing freezing winds and heavy storms. In this heartfelt episode, I hike up to visit our beloved, lonely grandmother to help her winter-proof her mountain cabin before the extreme freeze sets in\! ❄️🏠 With winter temperatures dropping fast, our main mission is to reinforce and mud-plaster the storeroom walls. Armed with soil, straw, and plaster, we sifted the earth, mixed traditional mortar in a wheelbarrow, and worked tirelessly until the sun went down. Between the heavy physical work, grandmother warmed the freezing mountain air with freshly brewed tea over an open fire, cared for Mickey and her loyal donkey, and cooked an incredible rustic meal that melted away all our exhaustion.
