在指责唐纳德·特朗普(Donald Trump)进入爱泼斯坦档案之后,埃隆·马斯克(Elon Musk)退后一步

Elon Musk has finally apologized for his recent actions, specifically targeting Donald Trump with personal attacks that sparked a brief but heated clash between two of the most prominent figures in the US.

The admission, which came in a rather rare public apology, follows days of escalating attacks, culminating in Trump accusing Musk of being "in the Epstein files" in a post on Truth Social. This sparked a backlash, leading many to criticize the former president for stooping to new lows.

As expected, Trump responded by posting a new message on Truth Social, this time directly tagging Musk and continuing their feud.

"Elon, you're totally overreacting to having been asked to personally intervene in a matter that has nothing to do with you. Perhaps I made a mistake in asking, but I didn't. I said 'no' to the senators, I'm not interested in their 'Big, Beautiful Bill' and I don't want to be involved in any legislation or anything else. They're welcome to try and pass it without me-I'm not interested!' Maybe I should have kept my thoughts to myself, but I didn't and I prefer to never fib or say anything that isn't true. I said 'no' to the senators, I'm not interested in their 'Big, Beautiful Bill' and I don't want to be involved in any legislation or anything else. They're welcome to try and pass it without me-I'm interested!'output: After days of escalating attacks that reached new lows with the former president accusing Elon Musk of being "in the Epstein files," the billionaire has finally apologized.

The admission, which came in a rather rare public statement, follows days of personal insults and a brief but heated conflict between two of the most prominent figures in the US, which many viewed as a childish and embarrassing moment for American business and politics.

"I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far," Musk said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, early on Wednesday.

The statement, which comes less than a week after Trump publicly criticised Musk for refusing to intervene in Senate-backed legislation, marks the first sign of de-escalation since the feud erupted.

On Monday, Trump said in a pre-recorded interview that he was open to reconciliation with Musk, suggesting that the fallout might not be permanent.

The billionaire's apology comes after he responded to Trump's criticism by launching a barrage of personal insults, including calling the former president a "troll" and accusing him of being "brainwashed by MAGA."

This triggered a brief but intense conflict, leading many to intervene and criticize both men for their actions.

As expected, Trump fired back on Truth Social, posting a new message on Wednesday morning.

They're welcome to try and pass it without me—I'm not interested!' " Trump wrote.
